SSL Duende G-EQ

The SSL Duende EQ is a software equalizer plugin developed by Solid State Logic, renowned for its precision, versatility, and transparent sound quality. Here's an overview of its key features:

  • Authentic SSL Sound: The Duende EQ faithfully emulates the sound characteristics of SSL's renowned hardware equalizers, known for their clarity, transparency, and musicality. It captures the essence of SSL's legendary analog EQs in a convenient software format.
  • Four-Band Equalization: The Duende EQ features a four-band equalizer with controls for low (LBF), low-mid (LMBF), high-mid (HMBF), and high frequencies (HBF). Each band offers precise frequency selection and gain control. LMBF and HMBF offers adjustable Q (bandwidth), allowing for detailed and musical tonal shaping.
  • Bell and Shelf Filters: In addition to bell-shaped filters for precise frequency adjustments, the Duende EQ also includes shelf filters (HSF + LSF) for broad adjustments to the low and high ends of the frequency spectrum. This combination of filter types provides flexibility in sculpting the sound.
  • Analog Modeling: SSL's Duende EQ plugin incorporates advanced analog modeling technology to emulate the nonlinear characteristics of analog hardware, including subtle harmonic distortion and saturation. This adds warmth and depth to the audio signal, reminiscent of classic SSL analog EQs.
  • High-Precision Processing: The Duende EQ utilizes high-quality algorithms for precise and transparent signal processing, ensuring minimal phase distortion and artifacts. This maintains the integrity of the audio signal even when applying significant EQ adjustments.
  • Intuitive User Interface: The Duende EQ features a user-friendly interface with clear and intuitive controls, making it easy to dial in the desired EQ settings quickly and efficiently. The interface is designed to resemble SSL's hardware EQ units, providing familiarity for users familiar with SSL consoles.
  • Compatibility: The Duende EQ plugin is compatible with major digital audio workstation (DAW) software platforms, allowing seamless integration into existing workflows. It supports both Mac and Windows operating systems, ensuring broad compatibility for users.

Overall, the SSL Duende EQ is a versatile and powerful software equalizer plugin, offering the precision and sonic characteristics of SSL's legendary hardware EQs in a convenient digital format. It's a go-to choice for mixing and mastering engineers seeking professional-grade EQ processing with the signature SSL sound.

About Xtreme Samples Q-Clone Libraries

Xtreme Samples Q-Clone libraries are clearly superior to the native EQ plugins in terms of authenticity in relation to the hardware unit. Even compared to DSP platforms ( UAD , TC , etc.) the results of processing are more transparent and natural. Just like in case of convolution reverb, the characteristics of the original hardware will be captured far better as in case of an algorithmic DSP calculation.

Xtreme Samples Q-Clone presets represent specific filter positions of hardware equalizers. These positions have been transferred to a software environment and stored using convolution technology. There are two types of Xtreme Samples Q-Clone presets: single presets and application presets.

A single preset emulates the position (cut, boost, or flat) of a single EQ filter (e.g., high shelving filter), while other EQ filters are bypassed. An application preset captures the positions of two or more EQ filters simultaneously. Single presets are suitable for easily editing audio signals, such as treble/mid/bass boost/cut or low or high cut filters. By using the Q-Clone function 'Add,' which allows users to combine multiple single presets, they provide a broad foundation for creating custom EQ presets.

Application presets offer more complex EQ settings and are divided into two groups: mixing and mastering. Mixing presets include various settings sorted by application (e.g., presets for bass, drums, guitars, vocals, etc.). The mastering section is categorized by musical genre, such as pop, rock, dance, etc.

SSL Duende G-EQ Q-Clone Equaliser library for Waves Q-Clone Plugin

provides 1.346 EQ presets for high-quality processing of audio signals in the mixing and mastering process. There are all of the SSL Duende G-EQ filters available. The frequencies of each filter were created in many small boost or cut - gradations (+- 0.5dB), processed by a high-end AD conversion for use with Q-Clone. The entire library is directly integrated into the Q-Clone preset browser.

About Waves Q-Clone

Waves Q-Clone is a revolutionary product that, through unique, patented technology, allows for the emulation of classic analog hardware equalizers using convolution technology on a digital level - a plug-in for Windows and Mac DAWs, compatible with Pro Tools HTDM systems, as RTAS software, as well as with various native host applications in VST, DirectX, Audio Units, and MAS formats. It can be opened in the channels to be processed of the DAW mixer in as many instances as desired, as a mono or stereo plugin, as long as the CPU or DSP hardware of the computer can handle it.
